<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</span><br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><strong>Parmaa Ekadashi</strong></div><br />
Arjuna said: " Hey Janaardan ! what is the name of the Ekadashi of extra month{Lond/mal/Purushotam} , please let me know the process of this fast, which God is worshiped in it and<br />
<br />
and what is the effect of this fast.?"<br />
<br />
Lord Shri Krishna said : "Hey Partha...! This Ekadashi is known as Parma Ekadashi.It is the destructor of all the sins and a man gets happiness in this world and deliverance in the <br />
<br />
other/spiritual world.Lord Vishnu must be worshiped with incense, prashada, lamp.The story of this Ekadashi which happened with the maharishis{great sages} now, listen to that carefully.<br />
<br />
In the Kaampilaya city , there lived a very religious brahmin named Sumedha .His wife was very chaste and pure.But because of some sin in the past, he was very poor.His wife used to serve<br />
<br />
her husband and used to stay hungry after providing food to the guests.<br />
<br />
He said to his wife:" Dear, without money, married life is not possible, so I must leave to go abroad to earn some money."<br />
<br />
His wife said, :"Hey , master, wife must obey her husband, no matter what.Every human gets the result of his previous births.Whatever Lord has written in our destiny, fortune, it cannot be changed.<br />
<br />
Master, so you need not go anywhere else, whatever is in our luck, we will get it here only."<br />
<br />
So brahmin did not go abroad on the suggetion of his wife.Once sage Kaundilya , came to their place.Seeing him there, brahmin and his wife greeted him saying:"Our life is blessed with your Darshan."<br />
<br />
They provided sage with Aasana and food.<br />
<br />
Wife said to the sage:" With our good fortune you have came to our place. I believe that now our poverty will be destroyed.hey sage please tell us some solution to prevent our poverty."<br />
<br />
Then Sage Kaundilya said: "By keeping the fast of Parma Ekadashi of the Purushotama, or extra month all the sorrows, sins and poverty get destroyed.One becomes rich by keeping this fast.<br />
<br />
One should do Kirtana, and night awakening in this fast.Mahadeva has made Kubera, the God of wealth, as he kept this fast."<br />
<br />
Then sage Kaundilya told her the process of Parma Ekadashi fast.sage said: "Hey Brahmani, on this day, in the early morning after getting purified, one should start the process of keeping the <br />
<br />
'Pancharatri'{for 5 nights}.Those who kep ths for 5 days, attain heaven along with their parents.Hey Brahmani, you keep this fast along with your husband, with its effect, you will certainly attain <br />
<br />
what you wish for along with heaven after this life."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The couple kept the fast for 5 days as sugested by the sage.After it was done, brahmin's wife saw a prince coming near to their place.With Brahmaji's influence, the prince gave them 1 village and 1 <br />
<br />
beautiful house filled with all the needed things, to live.With the effect of this fast, the couple enjoyed several pleassures and attained heaven afterwords."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Hey Partha, one who keeps this fast, gets the result equal to doing all the pilgrimages and the yagnas.As in this world, cows are greatest above all , and King Indra is greates among all the dieties,<br />
<br />
likewise, month of Purushottama is greatest among all the other months.In this month, Padmini Ekadashi is the greatest and with its fast, all the sins are destroyed<br />
<br />
and holy, worlds are attained."</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7766526767110692929.post-82688851182041338902010-06-04T22:33:00.002+05:302010-11-12T20:23:22.883+05:30पुरुषोत्तम मास- शुक्लपक्ष -पद्मिनी एकादशी<div style="text-align: justify;">अर्जुन ने कहा: हे भगवन् ! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><strong>Indira Ekadashi</strong></div><br />
<br />
Yudhishthir asked : "Hey Madhusudan, please tell me which is the ekadashi of Ashwin Krishna Paksh?"<br />
<br />
Lord Krishna said:"Hey king the ekadashi of Ashwin Krishna Paksh, is known as Indira Ekadashi.With its effect, huge sins are <br />
<br />
destroyed.Even the ancestors who are now in the low births, they are delievered by this fast."<br />
<br />
"King, in ancient times ,there was a famous prince named Indrasen, who became the king of Mahishmatipur and he took care of his people <br />
<br />
with dharma.He was very famous."<br />
<br />
"King Indrasen used to japa of Lord Vishnu's pious names and used to be busy in meditatation all the time.Once upon a time he was <br />
<br />
sitting in his court,and sage Naarad appeared in front of him. Seeing the great sage, king greeted sage Naarad, and made him sit on the Aasana.<br />
<br />
and said," Hey great Saint, with your grace, I am fine and with your darshan,I am honoured, so please let me know the cause of your kind visit."<br />
<br />
"Sage Naarad said, Hey king listen, my story will surprise you.I went to yamaloka,<br />
<br />
{a world ,realm of the God of death} from Brahmaloka{a world, realm of Brahmaji, the creator}. There yamadeva{God of death} made me sit on a great<br />
<br />
Aasana and worshiped me.There I saw your father too.He had to come there because of the sin of breaching, or breaking a fast. Hey king your father has <br />
<br />
sent me a message for you. he said, "Son do keep the fast of Indira Ekadashi and send or dedicate that good karma to me and send me to heaven."<br />
<br />
Hey king I have came here with this message of your father.Do keep the fast of Indira Ekadashi for your father."<br />
<br />
"King asked" hey sage, please let me know how this fast is done, when does it come, on which fortnight and on what date, please let me know."<br />
<br />
Narad ji said " Hey king of kings ,listen,let me tell you the process of this fast. On Ashwin Krishna Paksh, Dashmi, that is the 10th day, <br />
<br />
take a bath in the early morning and have a meal in the noon time, and sleep on the earth in the night.In the early morning of Ekadashi, take a shower and<br />
<br />
brush your teeth and recite this mantra...:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Agha sthitya nirahaaraha sarvabhogavivarjitaha.<br />
<br />
Shvo Bhokshaye pundarikaaksha sharanam mey bhavaachyuta.<br />
<br />
" Hey kamalanayan {having eyes like lotus}, Lord Naarayan.I surrender to you, and will not have any meal today and will eat tommorow."{<br />
<br />
"Hence in the afternoon time,do the Shraadha of your ancestors in front of Shaaligram, ang give alms to the brahmins and offer them food.<br />
<br />
Smell the dough meant for the ancestors and offer it to the cows.Do the jaagran in the night and worship Lord Rishikesh,with incense . Then in the morning on the Dwaadashi,<br />
<br />
again worship Lord Shri Hari and offer food to the brahmins and afterwords have a meal along with your family members, but silently,unvoiced."<br />
<br />
<br />
"Hence keep this fast with this process, and your ancestors will attain Vaikuntha."<br />
<br />
Lord Krishna says that "saying this sage Naarada dissapeared and king Indrasen kept this fast along ewith his queens, princes and brothers."<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />

<b>Safala Ekadashi</b></div>
<br />
<br />
Yudhishthir asked :Master, which is the Ekadashi of Paush Krishna Paksh, what is its name?What is the process of <br />
<br />
its fast, which deity is worshiped in it? please elaborate."<br />
<br />
Lord ShriKrishna spoke :"Hey king of kings, I am not satiated with huge yagnas with great dakshinas,but with the keeping of Ekadashi fast.<br />
<br />
Paush Krishna Paksh Ekadashi is named as Safala Ekadashi.On this day Lord Narayan should be worshiped.As Sheshanaaga among the serpants, and Garuda<br />
<br />
among the birds, and God ShriVishnu among all the deities is greater, likewise, Ekadashi is greatest among all the dates."<br />
<br />
<br />
"Hey king, on the day of Safala Ekadashi, one must worship Lord Shrihari chanting the holy mantras, along with coconuts, betalnut, pomegranate,<br />
<br />
beautiful Amla, cloves, bijora and jamira lemon, bers, and especially with the mango fruit and lamp and incense.On the Safala Ekadashi, it is a <br />
<br />
special provision of doing charity of the lamps.During the night one must stay awake and do jagran with the Vaishnava devotees.The effect of doing the jaagran is <br />
<br />
much more than doing meditation for thousands of years."<br />
<br />
"Hey great king, now do listen to the story related to the fortunate Safala Ekadashi.There is a famous city named Champaavati, which was once the capital of <br />
<br />
the king Mahishamat.The saintly king had 5 sons . The eldest one was always indulged in the sins.<br />
<br />
He used to visit prostitutes and have illicit love affairs.He spent his father's money in the wrong deeds.He was always indulged in bad things and used to<br />
<br />
criticize the Vaishnavas and the deities.Seeing his son indulged in the sins, the king named his son "Lumbhak".Later his father and his brothers threw him out of the city.<br />
<br />
Lumbak went to the deep forest.But from there only he looted the money of the whole city.Once when he came to the city for stealing in the night time, he was caught by the policemen caught him.But when he told them that he is the son of the king Mahishmat they released him.<br />
<br />
Afterwords he came back to the jungle and started living there ,eating meat and fruits .The shelter of that wicked <br />
<br />
was an old Pipala tree.In that jungle, that tree was considered to be a great deity.Villian Lumbak used to live under it.<br />
<br />
One day because of some good karma of the past, he accidently kept the fast of Ekadashi.In the month of Paush on the day of dashmi, <br />
<br />
he ate the fruits of the trees and as he was without any clothes, he suffered the whole night because of the cold.At that time he could not <br />
<br />
sleep at all and could not have rest too.He was becoming without life,sterile.Even in the sunrise he could not become conscious.On the day of Safla <br />
<br />
Ekadashi too, he layed unconscious.In the noon time he woke up.He saw here and there and went inside the jungle halting like a lame man.He was weakened <br />
<br />
and was suffering from hunger.When he came back with plenty of fruits , it was the time of sunset.Later he kept those fruits under the root of the <br />
<br />
tree and requested :"With these fruits Lord Lakshamipati, Bhagvan Vishnu be satiated.", hence saying that he did not sleep for the whole night.<br />
<br />
Hence this way, he accidently kept the fast of Ekadashi.Suddenly voice from the heaven spoke :" Hey prince, with the effect of Safla Ekadashi, you will <br />
<br />
attain kingdom and son{heir}.'Very good" lumbak said and accepted the blessing.Afterwords he attained a angelic, divine form.His intellect became interested in <br />
<br />
Lord Vishnu.He decorated with divine ornaments, attained a great kingdom and ruled it for 15 years.He had a son too, named Manogya.When Manogya became grownup<br />
<br />
Lumbak, gave away his kingdom to him and himself went near to Lord Krishna, where no body becomes a victim of sorrow ever."<br />
<br />
"Hence king, one who keeps this fast of Safala Ekadashi, he is liberated after attaining pleasures of this world.Those people in the world are great who keep <br />
<br />
themselves involved in this fast of Ekadashi, their life is blessed.Hey king, one who hears, reads this glory of Ekadashi, he attains the effect of doing the Raajsuya yagna."</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />

<b>Mokshada Ekadasi</b></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Mokshada Ekadasi is a very special Ekadasi in two regards; today was the all auspicious day on which Lord Sri Krishna spoke the Srimad Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, at the place now known as Jyotisha tirtha.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Anyone who gifts a Bhagavad Gita away to a deserving person on this day is bestowed profuse blessings by the Sri Krishna Bhagavan.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The Ancient History of Mokshada Ekadasi from Brahmanda Purana:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Yudhishthira Maharaj said, "O Vishnu, master of all, O delight of the three worlds, O Lord of the entire Universe, O creator of the world, O oldest personality, O best of all beings, I offer my most respectful obeisances unto You.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"O Lord of lords, for the benefit of all living entities, kindly answer some questions that I have. What is the name of the Ekadasi that occurs during the light fortnight of the month of Margashirsha (November-December) and removes all sins? How does one observe it properly, and which Deity is worshipped on that holiest of days? O my Lord please explain this to me in full."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Lord Sri Krishna replied, "O dear Yudhishthira, your enquiry is very auspicious in itself and will bring you fame. Just as I previously explained to you about the dearest Utpannaa Maha-Dwadasi - which occurs during the dark part of the month of Margashirsha, which is the day when Ekadasi-devi appeared from My body to kill the demon Mura, and which benefits everything animate and inanimate in the three worlds - so I shall now relate to you regarding this Ekadasi that occurs during the light part of the month of Margashirsha. This Ekadasi is famous as Mokshadaa because it purifies the faithful devotee of all sinful reactions and bestows liberation upon him. The worshippable Deity of this all auspicious day is Lord Damodara. With full attention one should worship Him with incense, a ghee lamp, fragrant flowers, and Tulasi manjaris (buds).<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"O best of saintly kings, please listen as I narrate to you the ancient and auspicious history of this wonderful Ekadasi. Simply by hearing this history one can attain the merit earned by performing a horse sacrifice. By the influence of this merit, one's forefathers, mothers, sons, and other relatives who have gone to hell can turn around and go to the heavenly kingdom. For this reason alone, O king, you should listen with rapt attention to this narration. "There once was a beautiful city named Champaka-nagar, which was decorated with devoted Vaishnavas. There the best of saintly kings Maharaj Vaikhaanasa, ruled over his subjects as if they were his very own dear sons and daughters. The brahmins in that capital city were all expert in four kinds of Vedik knowledge. The king, while ruling properly, had a dream one night in which his father was seen to be suffering the pangs of hellish torture in one of the hellish planets ruled over by the Yamaraj. The king was overwhelmed with compassion for his father and shed tears. The next morning, Maharaj Vaikhaanasa described what he had seen in his dream to his council of twice born learned brahmins.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
" ' O brahmanas,' the king addressed them, 'in a dream last night I saw my father suffering on a hellish planet. He was crying out in anguish, "O son, please deliver me from this torment of this hellish condition !" Now I have no peace in my mind, and even this beautiful kingdom has become unbearable to me. Not even my horses, elephants, and chariots and my vast wealth in my treasury that formerly brought so much pleasure, gives me no pleasure at all.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
" 'Everything, O best of the brahmins, even my own wife and sons, have become a source of unhappiness since I beheld my father suffering the tortures of that hellish condition so. Where can I go, and what can I do, O brahmins, to alleviate this misery? My body is burning with fear and sorrow ! Please tell me what kind of charity, what mode of fasting, what austerity, or what deep meditation, and in service upon which Deity I may have to perform to deliver my father from that agony and bestow upon liberation upon my forefathers. O best among the brahmins, what is the use of one's being a powerful son if one's father must suffer on a hellish planet? Truly, such a son's life is utterly useless, to him and to his forefathers.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
" The twice born brahmins replied, 'O king, in the mountainous forest not far from here is the ashram where a great saint Parvata Muni resides. Please go to him, for he is tri-kala-jnan (he knows the past, the present, and the future of everything) and can surely help you in your gaining relief from your misery.'<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Upon hearing this advise, the distressed king immediately set out on a journey to the ashram of the famous sage Parvata Muni. The ashram was indeed very big and housed many learned sages expert in chanting the sacred hymns of the four Vedas (Rg, Yajur, Sama, and Arthava). Approaching the holy ashram, the king beheld Parvata Muni seated among the assembly of sages adorned with hundreds of tilaks (from all the authorised sampradayas) like another Brahmaa or Vyaas.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Maharaj Vaikhaanasa offered his humble obeisances to the muni, bowing his head and then prostrating his entire body before him. After the king had seated himself among the assembly Parvata Muni asked him about the welfare of the seven limbs of his extensive kingdom (his ministers, his treasury, his military forces, his allies, the brahmins, the sacrificial offerings performed, and the needs of his subjects). The muni also asked him if his kingdom was free of troubles and whether everyone was peaceful, happy and satisfied. To these enquiries the king replied, 'By your mercy O glorious and great sage, all seven limbs of my kingdom are doing very well. Yet there is a problem that has recently arisen, and to solve it I have come to you, O brahmana for your expert help and guidance'.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Then Parvata Muni, the best of all sages, closed his eyes and meditated on the king's past, present and future. After a few moments he opened his eyes and said, 'Your father is suffering the results of committing a great sin, and I have discovered what it is. In his previous life he quarrelled with his wife and forcibly enjoyed her sexually during her menstrual period. She tried to protest and resist his advances and even yelled out, "Someone please save me! Please, O husband, do not interrupt my monthly period in this way!" Still he did not stop or leave her alone. It is on account of this grievous sin that your father now has fallen into such a hellish condition of suffering.'<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"King Vaikhaanasa then said, 'O greatest among sages, by what process of fasting or charity may I liberate my dear father from such a condition? Please tell me how I can relieve and remove the burden of his sinful reactions, which are a great obstacle to his progress toward ultimate release (salvation - liberation - going back home).'<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Parvata Muni replied, 'During the light fortnight of the month of Margashirsha there occurs an Ekadasi called Mokshadaa. If you observe this sacred Ekadasi strictly, with a full fast, and give directly to your suffering father the merit you thus attain/obtain, he will be freed from his pain and instantly liberated'.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Hearing this, Maharaj Vaikhaanasa profusely thanked the great sage and then returned to his palace to perform his vrata (austere rite). O Yudhishthira, when the light part of the month of Margashirsha at last arrived, Maharaj Vaikhaanasa faithfully waited for the Ekadasi tithi to arrive. He then perfectly and with full faith observed the Ekadasi fast with his wife, children, and other relatives. He dutifully gave the merit from this fast to his father, and as he made the offering, beautiful flower petals showered down from the devas who peered out from behind the clouds in the sky. The king's father was then praised by the messengers of the demigods (devas) and escorted to the celestial region. As he passed his son, as he traversed the lower to middle to higher planets, the father said to the king, 'My dear son, all auspiciousness unto you!'<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
At last he reached the heavenly realm from where he can again with his newly acquired merit perform devotional service to Krishna or Vishnu and in due course return back to home back to Godhead.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"O son of Pandu, who so ever strictly observes the sacred Mokshadaa Ekadasi, following the established rules and regulations, achieves full and perfect liberation after death. There is no better fasting day than this Ekadasi of the light fortnight of the month of Margashirsha, O Yudhishthira, for it is a crystal-clear and sinless day. Whoever faithfully observes this Ekadasi fast, which is like chintaa-mani (a gem that yields all desires), obtains special merit that is very hard to calculate, for this day can elevate one from hellish life to the heavenly planets, and for one who observes Ekadasi for his own spiritual benefit, this elevates one to go back to Godhead, never to return to this material world."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Thus end the narration of the glories of Margashirsha-shukla Ekadasi or Mokshada Ekadasi, from the Brahmanda Purana.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>

<b>Utpatti ...utpanna Ekadashi</b> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The fast of Utpatti Ekadashi must be done in the Hemant season, in the margshirsha krishna paksh.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The story related to it is as below ... :</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yudhishthir asked to Lord Krishna, :"Bhagwan,how did this pious date of Ekadashi began? Why is it considered </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
holy in the world and why is it dear to the dieties?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sribhagwan spoke :"Hey kuntinandana{son of kunti}, in ancient times, there lived a demon, named Mur, who</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
lived in the Satyug.He was incredibly amazing,frightening, scary for the dieties.That huge, deadly demon even conquered Indra,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
All the dieties were conquered by him and were banished from heaven and used to roam on the earth, scared and suspicious.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One day they went to Mahadevji{Lord Shiva}.Here Indra narrated the whole story in front of the Lord Shiv."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Indra said :"Hey God of Gods, deities are roaming about on the earth after being banished from the heaven.They</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Do not look good with humans.Hey God, please give us some advice,where should we take refuge ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mahadevji said :"Hey king of deiteis, Lord Garudadhavaj who gives shelter to everyone, who rescues everyone,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
go to him, he will save you."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lord ShriKrishna said :"hEY ydhishthir, listening to the advice of Mahadeva, wise Indra, along with all the</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
deities went to Ksheersaagar, where Lord Gadaadhara was sleeping.Here Indra started praising the lord with folded hands."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Indra spoke :"Hey God of Gods, Namaskar to you.You are only husband{master}, you are intellect, you are the creator and reason.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
you are the father and mother of all the creatures.Dieties and demons, both praise you.O Pundarikaksha, you are the enemy of the demons.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hey Madhusudan, please save us.O Prabhu, hey Jagannaatha, a strong wild demon, Mur has won the heaven and banshed us deities from heaven.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
O bhagwan, O God of Gods, Sharaagatvatsala, we have came into your shelter frightened by the demon.O destroyer of the demons, Hey Kamalanayan, </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bhaktavatsal, God of Gods,Janaardan! Save us..save us.Bhagvan save us dieties we are in your shelter."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hearing the pleas of Indra Lord Vishnu spoke :"Hey king of deities ,how does this demon look like?What king of form he has, </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
how much power does he have? and where does this wicked villian live ?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Indra spoke :"Hey God of Gods ,in ancient times, in the dynasty of Brahmaji, there appeared a huge demon Taaljangha , who was very </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
appalling.His son is known as Mur demon.He also has temendous power and is frightening for the dieties.He lives in a city named Chandraavati.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That demon has conquered the dieties and has banished them from heaven.He has made a yet another Indra to sit on the throne of paradise.He has created</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
his own deities of, Sun, Agni{fire},Varun{water},air .Hey Janaardana, I am telling you the truth, he has created his own people.Dieties have been </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
banished from everywhere."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Listening to the speech of Indra,Lord Janaardana, became very angry.He entered the city of Chandraavati along with the dieties.Lord Janaardana saw</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
that "the demon was roaring again and again and the deities are running away in all the 10 directions conquered by him."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Seeing Lord Vishnu , the demon spoke, "Stay where you are........stay right there."Hearing this the eyes of the Lord turned red with anger.Lord </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
said :"Hey wicked demon, just see my arms."Now Lord Vishnu started killing the demons with his divine arrows, the demons who were approaching him.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The demons were frightened.Hey son of Pandu, later Shrihari blew his chakra on the army of the demons.Now thousands of demons shattered away and died."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Hence, Lord Madhusudan went to Badrika Aashram.Here there was a cave named Simhaavati, which was 12 yojan{Indian standard to meassure distances} long.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hey Pandunandana, there was only one door in that cave.Lord Vishnu slept in that cave.That wicked demon was following the Lord in order to kill him, hence he </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
also entered the cave.Here, seeing the Lord asleep, he became very happy.He thought :"This is a God which has frightened the demons, I will certainly kill him."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hey Yudhishthir, as the demon thought this, there appeared a girl from the body of Lord Vishnu, who was very beautiful,fortunate and decorated with divine weapons.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She appeared from the brightness of Lord Vishnu.She had a great strength.Yudhishthir, the demon saw the girl.The asked him to fight with her.Now the battle began.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The girl was very accomplished in the art of war.The great demon shattered only with her whooper.When he dies, Lord awakened.Seeing the demon dead on the ground </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lord asked the girl,"This enemy of mine was very powerful, Who has killed him?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Girl spoke :"Master, with your grace, I have killed this great demon."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
ShriBhagwan spoke :"Hey Kalyaani, with this karma of yours, you have pleassured, the sages and dieties of the three worlds.Hence ask for anything you wish for from me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Even if it is hard to attain by the dieties, I will provide it to you, no doubt about it."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That girl was Ekadashi herself.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She spoke :"Prabho..! If you are happy then, with your grace I want to be predominent among all the pilgrimages,the destroyer of all the obstacles,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and a provider of all the siddhis.Hey Janaardan, those who will kep faith in you and will keep a fast on my date, let them attain whatever they wish for.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hey Maadhav, those who will keep a fast, with one meal a day or no meal a day, do provide them with money, dharma and liberaton."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Shri Vishnu spoke :"Hey Kalyani, whatever you have spoken, will be that way."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lord Shrikrishna says :"Yudhthir, hearing this, Mahavrataa Ekadashi was pleased so much.The ekadashis of both the fortnights do the equal welfare. </div>

One should not differenciate between shukla and krishna paksha.If in the begining there is a little Ekadashi, in the middle Dwadashi,and in the end, there is </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a little Trayodashi, it is then known as Trisprisha Ekadashi.It is very dear to the Lord.If one keeps a fast of Trisprisha ekadashi, then he attains the effect of k</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
keeping 1000 ekadashis and like wise the paaran in the dwaadashi is considered as 1000 times more.Ashtami{8th date}, Ekadashi{11th},shashthi{6th}, chaturthi{4th}</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and tritiya{3rd}, -all these if they are having an inflence of the previous tithi{dates}, then one should not keep the fast .One should keep the fast only in the parvartini date.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
During the previous date, if there is ekadashi during the day and nught both,and there is ekadashi on the morning of the next date,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
then one must keep the fast the secong day, including the dwadashi date.This is the process I have told for both the Ekadashis of the month."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
" One who keeps the fast of Ekadashi, attains Vaikuntha, where Lord Garudadwaja is himself.A person who keeps on reciting the glory of Ekadashi,he gets the effect of doing charity of </div>

There is no other fast as Ekadashi in this world."</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />

<b>Devuthni/ Prabodhini Ekadashi</b></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Lord Shri Krishna said :"Hey Arjun, now I will tell you a story related to the liberating Ekadashi of Kartik Shukla pash named "Prabodhini Ekadashi",<br />
<br />
which is a dialogue between Brahmaji and Naradji.Once Naaradji asked to Brahmaji :"Hey father, what is the effect of keeping the fast of Prabodhini Ekadashi? please let me know."<br />
<br />
Brahmaji spoke :"Hey son, a thing which is very difficult to attain can be attained by Prabodhini Ekadashi's fast. By keeping this fast so many wrong karmas done in the <br />
<br />
previous births are destroyed within seconds.Hey son, those who do even very little good karma during this day, even those are converted into big mountains.Who keeps this fast, his <br />
<br />
ancestors attain Vaikuntha.The crime of killing the Brahmins is also destroyed by keeping this fast and staying awake during the night.<br />
<br />
"Hey Naarad, humans must keep this fast for pleasing Lord Vishnu.Aperson who keeps the fast of Ekadashi,he becomes prosperous,Yogi, ascetic, master of his senses as Ekadashi<br />
<br />
is very dear to Lord Vishnu."<br />
<br />
" During this day a person who does to please the Lord charity, meditation,yagna{chanting the holy names is also a yagna......as I am the japa yagna amongst all the yagnas...SrimadbhagwadGita}They attain a good karma that can not be destroyed."<br />
<br />
"Hence Naarad, you must also worship Lod Vishnu in the right way.On this Ekadashi, one must wake up in the time of Brahma muhurat{early morning before sunrise}<br />
<br />
and should pledge for the fast and worship the Lord.In the night time one should stay awake and spend the night singing, doing kirtan,dancing nearby the Lord."<br />
<br />
"On the day of Prabodhini Ekadashi, Lord should be worshiped with incense,flowers etc, and should give Arghaya to the Lord.The effect of this is billion times more than<br />
<br />
doing charity and pilgrimages."<br />
<br />
"Those who with the rose flowers, Bakul and Ashok flowers, Kaner flowers red and white,Duurvadal, Champak flowers, Shami leaves worship Lord, they are liberated from this world.<br />
<br />
Hence one should worship the lord during the night and in the morning time after having a bath,one should pray to the lord and worship his Guruji and offer food to the pious Brahmins and<br />
<br />
hence end his fast this way"<br />
<br />
"Those who pledge for leaving or sacrificing some particular thing during these 4 months, they must start doing the same right from this day.Those who keep this fast with the <br />
<br />
right process, they attain unlimited pleassures and attain heaven after their lives."</div>

</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
</div>

Chandrabhaagaa spoke: Dear, in my father's house not only humans but even the pets do not eat anything on Ekadashi.If you eat on this day, you </div>

Shoban said :"Dear, you are right, I will keep this fast too."</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
Lord Shri Krishna said : "Hence this way , Shoban kept this fast but before sunrise, he died.He was provided with the kingly cremation by the king. </div>

<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">

<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
Somnaath Sharma said :" Hey great king everything is fine there.It is amazing, this is an incredible city, nobody must have seen this kind of city before. Please tell me</div>

how did you get/achieve this city?"</div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
Shobhan spoke : "Hey Brahmin, I had kept the fast of Ramaa Ekadashi of kartik krishna paksh, thats why I attained this city.Thought I did not have any faith on the fast thats why</div>

<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
Hearing that story , the Brahmin went to the kingdom of Muchukundupur and told the whole story to Chandrabhaagaa.</div>

<div style="color: #741b47; text-align: justify;">
Somsharma said :"I saw your husband there,I saw his heavenly city too.But his city is unstable, you make it stable."</div>

</div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #990000; text-align: justify;">

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
’</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<b>Padma / Parivartini Ekadashi</b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
King Yudhishthir asked Lord Krishna,"Hey Keshava...,please tell me the story related to the ekadashi of</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bhadrapad Shukla Paksh,what is its name,who are its dieties and how is it done.?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lord Krishna said,"Hey king let me tell you a surprising story related to this subject,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
this story was told by Brahmaji himself to Sage Naarada."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Naaradaji said to Brahmaji"Namaskar, for the worship of Lord Vishnu, I want to know the story of</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bhadrapad Shukla Paksh ekadashi from you."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Brahmaji said,"Hey Sage Naarad, you have asked a really great question, and of coarse you will ask such a thing, as you </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
are a great Vaishnava yourself.Bhadrapad Shukla Paksh ekadashi is known as Padma Ekadashi,Lord Rishikesh is worshiped on that day.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is a great fast.In the dynasty of Surya[apollo,Sun God],there was a great, world conquerer,truthful king named Maandhata,he took care of his</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
subjects as his own children.In his kingdom there used to be no famines,no mental tentions,no epidemics.His subjects were fearless and rich.There was only</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Just,fair money in the treassure of the king.In his kingdom people used to follow their dharma very well.His land was fertile as</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Kaamdhenu, and the subjects were really happy.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once because of some sin of the past, there was no rain for 3 years in succession in the kingdom.The people started vanishing with hunger.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They came to the king and said,"Hey king, in the puraanas sages have called water"naar", and this "naar" is the place where lord lives, thats why he is called Naarayan</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Naarayan, Vishnu is present everywhere.He exists in the form of the clouds, and fals the rain, with the rain,cereal grow,with cereals, people live, so hey King please find some solution</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
to this problem of famine in our kingdom.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
King said,"you all are right, cereal is called brahma in the scriptures.With the cereals, living beings beget.It is also said that with the tyranny of</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
the kings, his subjects are hurt, but I do not see any such act of opression done by me.But still I will do something for solving this problem.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After saying that king Maandhata left for the jungle along with a few people.He kept on roaming in the hermitages of the hermits there.And once he saw Sage Angeera there.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The king with lots of happiness touched the feet of the sage.Sage also gave him blessing by saying"Swasti" to him and asked about his kingdom.king told him about his kingdom and asked the sage about his health.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sage made him sit by his side and asked for what reason he was in the jungle.king told the sage,"Hey great sage, I was ruling my kingdom with dharma, but suddenly my kingdom has this drought,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
because of the lack of rain.I do not know the reason behind it"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sage said, "hey king, it is the yuga{age} of Satyuga right now.All the people keep on meditating about the lord in this age, the dharma is very much full with its 4 aspects in this age.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In this age only brahmins are tapasvis, not others.But in your kingdom, there is a low caste, who is doing tapasya, and because of him there is a famine in your kingdom, you dissuade him and everything will be alright."{</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
King said " hey sage, firstly he is meditationg, and secondly he is innocent, I cannot harm him.So please tell me some other solution of this problem."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sage said,"Hey king then keep the fast of ekadashi then,Bhadrapad Shukla Paksh, ekadashi is known as Padma Ekadashi, along with your close ones, your problem will be solved."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
King came back, and he kept the fast of ekadashi along with all his subjects, because of which, it started raining, and everything became alright.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lord krishna says,"hey king on this day one should give alms of a pot filled with water,covered with curd, and should give rice umberella, and shoes to a brahmin.And this mantra should be rectited while giving alms....</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>

<b>Aja Ekadashi</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yudhisher ji asked: "Hey Janaardana...please tell me the story related to Bhadrapad Krishna Paksh ekadashi"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lord krishna said: "King, do listen carefully, the Ekadashi that falls on Bhadrapad Krishna Paksh, is known as Ajaa Ekadashi.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is the destroyer of all the sins.One who keeps this fast and worships lord Rishikesh, all his sins are destroyed."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"In the ancient times, there was a famous, world conquerer king named Harishchandra,who was the king of the whole planet and was very truthful.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once because of some sin of the past, he lost his kingdom,he sold away his son and his wife, he even had to sell himself and though he was a very holy man himself , he</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
had to be a slave of a low caste, flesh eater, he had to take the shroud of the dead, but even then, he remained truthful and spoke the truth only."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"So this way many years passed of his slavery.King now became very sad at his ill fortune and started thinking of a way out.and used to think,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"What should I do now, where should I go, how will I be rescued?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Seeing the king very sad, sage Gautam came to him,seeing the sage approaching towards him, Harishchandraji greeted him, and told him hid agony."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Hearing his story sage Gautam said,"hey king the Ekadashi of Bhadrapad Krishna Paksh is just comimg, it is very holy, do keep this fast.It will destroy </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
your bad karmas. With good fortune, the seventh day from now is Ajaa Ekadashi.Do keep the fast, and stay awake and do jaagran in the night."after saying this sage </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Gautam dissapeared."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Now the king did just the way as sage had suggested him to. With the effect of this ekadashshi, the king got back his kingdom, son's life, wife everything.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There was a playing of music from the heaven and a rain of the flowers from the sky ."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"With the effect of the fast of ekadashi, the king attained his kingdom and went to heaven along with his close ones after death."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
" Hey king , those who do this fast, all their sins are destroyed and they attain heaven.Also only by reading and hearing this story, one attains good karma </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
as equivalent to doing Ashvamegh Yagna." </div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; color: blue; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;">Putrada /Pavitra Ekadashi</span></div>

</div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
<br />
yudhishthir asked Sri krishna...: Hey Madhusudan ..! what is the ekadashi in the sharavan month's Shukla paksha...please elaborate.<br />
<br />
Lord Krishna said..Hey king, in ancient time, when it was just the begining of Dwapar yuga there was a king named Mahijeet, of the kingdom Mahishmatipur, he did not have a son,he used to be very sad all the time because of this.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">once he became very tensed and told his subjects..."hey my people I have not done any huge big sin in this life of mine, there is no unjust money in my treassure.I have never took away money deserved by the brahmins and deities,I have taken care of my kingdom as my own child.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
I have conquered the world, but only with Dharma.I have punished the wicked even if they were my own relatives, I have always respected the civilized people and never envied anyone<br />
then what do you think could be the reason that I still do not have a son.?"</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
hearing these words of their king, subjects along with the brahmins, and all the well wishers of the king started roaming about in the Ashrams in the woods, then all of a sudden Sage Lomash appeared.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
Lomashji is an incredible sage, his body is full of Lom or fur, he is as great as Brahmaji himself.He is so long lived that after every kalpa(period) is fur gets destroyed n detached from his body, thats why he is known as sage Lomash, this maharishi knows things of present,past and future.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
people became so happy seeing him.Lomashji said to them, "what are you people gathered here for, are you in trouble, I will surely help you out if I can."</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
people said..."Hey great sage, king Mahijeet is our king, he has taken care of us as his own children, though he does not have a heir, he is very sad, we have came here in the jungle to do tapasya as we cannot see our king sad . hey sage, we are very fortunate that we have had the oppurtunity to see you, now we are content tht our wish will come true as only by seeing the great saints problems of men are solved. please tell us some solution to our problem.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
Hearing the words of the people sage Lomash meditated for a short while and told the story of the previous birth of their king mahijeet. he said"king mahijeet was a crooked, poor vaishya(a caste of the businessmen),he used to do business roaming here and there among the villages.one day on the shukla fortnite of the month of jayeshtha, while it was a very hot summer afternoon, he came near a pond in some village. and he thought of drinking the wated.suddenly one cow along with her calf came there near the pond too.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
she was very thirsty too, so she started drinking the water too. but vaishya while he saw that the cow is also drinking the water, he put the cow away and started drinking the water alone, and because of this sin, king is issueless in this birth of his.But as he did so may good karmas in some other previous birth, he is the king now."</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
people said "hey sage it is said that bad karmas can be washed away with the good karmas,penance.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
please advice some good karma so tht his wrong karmas can be washed off."</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
Sage Lomash said "the ekadashi on the shuklapaksh of shraavan month, is known as "Putradaa"[son giving] ekadashi, you people keep that fast."</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
hearing this the people came back to the city and ket the fast of Putradaa ekaadashi in the righteous way, and even stayed awake for the whole night, and sacrified or gave away their punyaas{good karma of keeping the fast} to the king.Later the quenn concieved and gave birth to a strong baby boy.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: 'lucida grande',tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
people who listen to the glory of this great ekadashi their sins are washed off and attain heaven after this life.</span></span><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />

<b>Kamika Ekadashi</b></div>
<br />
<br />
Yudhishthir said: "Hey Govinda, hey vaasudeva, greetings to you .Which is the ekadashi of the month of shravan krishna paksh.? please elaborate."<br />
<br />
Lord Krishna said: Hey King, listen, I tell you a story that destroys the sins, which was told by Brahmaji to Naaradji when he was asked by him."<br />
<br />
Naaradji asked: Hey Lord,hey Kamalaasana{sitting on the lotus}, I want to know the story of Shravan Krishna Paksh, what is it's name....and things related to it, please elaborate."<br />
<br />
Brahmaji said, :" Hey Naarada, listen, the ekadashi on Shravan Krishna Paksh, is known as Kaamika Ekadashi.Even if one thinks about it, he gets the good karma equivalent to Vaajpayee Yagna.<br />
<br />
On that day one should pray the Lord by chanting the names as Shridhar, Hari, Vishnu, Madhusudan, Madhav.<br />
<br />
The holy result that one gets by worshipping Lord Krishna, is much more than that which one gets in Ganga, Pushkar, Naimisharanya pilgrimages.<br />
<br />
If one gives the charity of the whole earth,including jungles and oceans, and he keeps the fast of Kamika Ekadashi, both the karmas are considered equal.<br />
<br />
<br />
If one gives alms of cows, along with other things, the good karma is equivalent to the fast of Kamika Ekadashi.A pious person who worships Lord Shridhara in the month of Shraavan <br />
<br />
he has worshiped all the deities and divine beings.<br />
<br />
Hence religious people should worship Shi Hari and keep the fast of Kamika Ekadashi.Those who are sinking in the sea of sansaara{worldly things}, for them Kaamika Ekadashi is the best.<br />
<br />
The person who keeps this fast gets the good karma even more than those who study spiritual books and want to earn spiritual knowledge by them.Aperson who keeps this fast never sees the envoys of death, or his catastrophe<br />
<br />
Lord is not pleased with the worship alongwith the red gems, pearls,corals, but with the leaves of Tulsi,Aperson who has worshipped the Lod Vishnu with Tulsi, all the sins of his birth are destroyed.<br />

"Which destroys all the sins with its Darshan,purifies the body with its touch,takes away all the ailments, diseases by simply greeting to it, scares even the God of death while being nourished by water<br />
<br />
. takes one nearer to lord Krishna by simply being planted,and provides deliverance by being offered to the feet of the Lord, we salute that Devi Tulsi"<br />
<br />
Even chitragupta{minister of God of death who counts the sins and good karmas of the dead} does not know the holy karmas done by a person who gives charity of the deepas{lamps}.On the day of Ekadashi, whos lamp is lightening <br />
<br />
in front of krishna, all his ancestors attain heaven and have amrit{nectar}. By lighting a deepa, lamp in front of krishna, with the fuel of butter, or oil of seasame, that soul goes to heaven with being welcomed by millions of lamps after his death."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Lord Krishna says, " Hey yudhishthir, I have elaborated the glory of Kamika Ekadashi. It destroys the sins and hence one should keep this fast, It provides one with heaven and good karmas.Aperson who listens to this glory of kamika ekadashi, attains Vishnuloka after his death<br />
<br />
and all his sins are destroyed."</div>
